{Birth Photography}

I was honored to be able to capture my first "Birth Story" this month. I spent about four hours with an amazing couple that did a fantastic job bringing their beautiful baby boy into this world. It was amazing experience and I did have difficulty focusing at times because my eyes were filled with water :) I have great appreciation for them for trusting me and allowing me to be present at such a miraculous moment in life. It's a moment that can never be duplicated or relived. It's a moment that goes so fast, that so much takes place that it's hard to absorb all the details. That's where I come in. Photographing all the little details, doing it in an artistic way. Capturing the love that's so present through the whole experiencing. Capturing all the firsts. The first moment you see him or her. The first time he opens his eyes. The first time you hold him. These are amazing moments. I was able to create a video slideshow for this family with all these moments in it. It's something they can share with those who couldn't be there on that special day. And it's something they can look at again and again, to relive their baby's "birth day" when all those sleepless nights start to make things a little fuzzy. I can't wait to do it again! Below a couple images from the result of 9 months of hard work and some words from the elated parents.

Let the Season Begin

I'm excited for "portrait season" and was able to start it off with a great family I haven't seen in a while. They even had a new addition for me to meet! This is the typical busy time for most portrait photographers. Everyone is scrabbling to get photos and Holiday Cards, gift prints for relatives and their wall's looking beautiful with the latest family images showing their family's growth in the last year. It's also a beautiful time of year, which shows true after this weekend's warm spell. The low tides that come with Fall and Winter are also a really good time to take some family photos at the beach. The low and negative low tides are so nice for creating great images on the "glass" down by the waterline. I hope to be busy this season and see some of you that I haven't seen in a while and get to enjoy the beach with my family as well! Stay tuned for some mini-session info which might be great for some of you that are just looking to do some holiday cards. Happy Fall everyone!

Another Gorgeous Day for Photography

You can't complain about the weather here in California. I can't even count how many beach days we've had already this year and it's the beginning of Spring! So that makes almost any day, a nice day to go shoot on location. This day was not the exception. Not a cloud in the sky, warm sunniness and a super sweet family to hang out with. I got to hang with this super styley family back in December as well, with her side of the family, so of course it's only fair to have a session with his family too! It was good to see them again.

p.s. don't you love brick in those images there at the end? Anyone guess where that is? There's a little clue here in a couple of the shots.

Sisters

How fun to have three girls! Sisters that can grow up to be best friends, and I think these three will. Each one's different, but come from a truly loving and fun family these three are going to grow and blossom. And who doesn't love a baby that smiles THAT much. Hope to see you all soon!
