Where did Fall go?

Hello Everyone! I'm a little embarrassed that it's almost Spring...I had a great Fall and I hope you all did too. It was so much fun working with you all, creating images for your holiday cards and your wall art, and I wanted to share just a tinie-tiny bit of that today. I hope to share a bit more...(some of my own holiday images) in another post but for now, I hope you enjoy. And!, I'm going to try and catch-up with more current work before Summertime ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

The newest addition

I was delighted to meet the newest little Bear in town. So sweet and little. Just 9 days old and already so aware of the whole world; her big sister and loving parents by her side. On a rainy October day I got to be apart of all the cuddling and giggling of little ones.

Let the Season Begin

I'm excited for "portrait season" and was able to start it off with a great family I haven't seen in a while. They even had a new addition for me to meet! This is the typical busy time for most portrait photographers. Everyone is scrabbling to get photos and Holiday Cards, gift prints for relatives and their wall's looking beautiful with the latest family images showing their family's growth in the last year. It's also a beautiful time of year, which shows true after this weekend's warm spell. The low tides that come with Fall and Winter are also a really good time to take some family photos at the beach. The low and negative low tides are so nice for creating great images on the "glass" down by the waterline. I hope to be busy this season and see some of you that I haven't seen in a while and get to enjoy the beach with my family as well! Stay tuned for some mini-session info which might be great for some of you that are just looking to do some holiday cards. Happy Fall everyone!

Jessica + Greg + Sofia

Many of you may have already been following the story of this amazing family. Little Sofia was born to Jessica and Greg on September 1st 2009, weighing in at only 1 lb. 4oz. It was a VERY scary and emotional time with both Jessica and Sofia's lives hanging in the balance. Thank goodness for the strength and determination present in these two girls! They were also surrounded with so much love and support from family, friends and the community. And this is them today! Looking beautiful and healthy. I had been waiting for them to call and make plans for a session at their favorite local coffee house (and their second home!) and was so happy to see the three of them together; smiles on their faces. I know they still face daily challenges, but they seem to be growing stronger and better by the day. You can see their whole story and offer support by visiting www.helpjessicaandsofia.com

Getting my Wildflower fix

I've been taking serious advantage of all the beautiful colors here in Encinitas. And thanks to the lucky family that won my "favorite location" contest we got to play in a sweet little, secret spot of wildflowers, right near their home. The wildflowers are amazingly vibrant, but also create a really beautiful graphic-like background when blurred out correctly. I found I love these images in my b&w special recipe! We also had so much fun playing with a kid sized fedora hat from Magical Child. Amazing what expressions and playing can come from one little prop. Note how sweet little Chloe loved to do everything her big brother did...and,so cute doing it.
